The Eleanor Graham Wrestling team recently celebrated a very successful season of wrestling.
They competed in six tournaments this year; five in N.B. and one in PEI. These include the Provincial
Championships in Lewisville; the Atlantic Championships in Bathurst; The Rexton Open; The St Stephen Invitational;
and the Canada East National Wrestling Festival in St. Stephen, with three hundred wrestlers from the six eastern provinces
competing for the Canada East Title. This event is the largest youth wrestling tournament held in Canada each year.
Two wrestlers in this photo were recognised by the provincial coaching body at provincials held in Lewisville Middle School,
and were voted as Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament. The third wrestler was recognised as Most Sportsman Like for the Canada East National Wrestling Festival in St. Stephen, NB.

Isaac Wilson a grade 8 student of Eleanor W. Graham carved the paddle from a piece of pine and Kirsten Flewelling a grade 11 student from Bonar Law Memorial designed the logo. SMART Technologies presented the City of Miramichi with the designation of SMART's first Showcase Community on June 1st, 2010 at the Rodd Miramichi. During the ceremony the paddle that was hand carved and painted was presented to a representative from the Dept. of Tourism. The paddle will travel to locations along the river that represent education, tourism and business.
Sunbury Shores is a not-for-profit arts and nature centre situated in St.Andrews by-the-Sea, NB.We offer courses and workshops that use the rich natural environment of ourregion as a source of artistic inspiration. Our centre, which overlooks St.Andrews Harbour, is welcoming and dynamic and features drawing and paintingstudios, a printshop, pottery studio, exhibition gallery, nature room and alibrary.
On April 30th 2010, nine students from grade 7 and 8 attended the New Brunswick Mathematics Competition. The grade 7 students representing our school were Samantha Bernard, Manuella Caravantes, Alexandrea Demmings and Jenny Steinmann. Representing grade 8 for our school were Michael Dowie, Jena Hudson, Derrick Kirby, Rachel Lawson, Jessica Reidpath. The students found the questions difficult, however the test needed to be at a high level because the best of the province were participating.

The EWG Girls Varsity Basketball team finished their season with a silver medal at the Basketball New Brunswick Tier 3 Tournament. The Eagles were the host team and fun was had by all. Many thanks to Darrick Hebert for coaching the girls over the past three years and to Lindsay Warren for her assistance. The team is made up of all grade eight girls so this was their last season as Eagles. Thanks goes out as well to all the parents, family and fans who have supported the girls.
The Eleanor W. Graham Middle School Boys Basketball Team finished their season off with a bronze medal at the District #16 Jamboree. A great season was had by the boys under the coaching direction of Mr. Fletcher. Our boys worked hard and really developed as a team. We say goodbye to our Grade 8's and wish them luck next year and a big thank you to Mr. Fletcher and all the parents and family who supported the EWG Eagles in the 09/10 season. Congratulations Boys, great job!
Alexandrea Forbes and James Lee, two students from EWG Middle School have their artwork on display at the Rexton Curling Club, as part of an auction. Ten students from grade 6-12 are involved with this project. Anyone interested in bidding on the art work may drop in anytime at the Curling Club and ask to see the catalogue. In there you will find the artist profile, a picture of their work and the inspiration for their piece. You may place your bids in the catalogue. Friday night suppers are a great chance to see what the students have created.
