It's that time again, enjoying the last week before the students return to school. Hope everyone had a safe and fun summer. Here are the logistics for next week.
Tuesday we will be welcoming GRADE 6 STUDENTS ONLY. A free Spaghetti lunch will be provided for all. No other options will be available, so please send a bagged lunch if your child does not like the chosen meal.
On Wednesday, ALL GRADE LEVELS will attend and regular cafeteria service resumes as usual.
Congratulations to Janitzio Caravantes for being selected as this years Turnaround Award Winner. Janitzio was presented with his award last evenig at the Rodd in the Miramichi. His family and teachers are very proud of him and he is a wonderful ambassador for EWG!
Recently a class of Grade Eight Eleanor W. Graham Middle
School students and two of their
teachers completed a 16 hour Standard First Aid, CPR and AED training
offered by the Saint John Ambulance Training program. This certificate is valid for 3 years and
certifies them to offer emergency first aid, CPR and use an AED which is an
Automated External Defibrillator that can positively improve the survival of
someone who has gone into cardiac arrest. Instruction was provided by Certified
Instructor for Anglophone North Schools, and teacher at EWG, Mr. Paul Mourant.
On June 8th, the annual Fusion Festival will take place at the Golden Hawk. The Fusion Festival is an all day event which sees many groups and activities coming together for a day of community involvement, youth participation and fun. All funds raised goes to the Autism Resource Center in Miramichi. If you'd like more information call 836-1915
The Miramichi Kinsmen and Anglophone North School District are pleased to accept film entries for the Third Annual Kin Film Festival. All students in ASD-N are invited to participate. Students may submit films in one or both of the two categories.The first category is the Kin Category. Films in this category will address the theme “Doing the Right Thing”.The second category is the Open Category.
The Kent Wrestling Club experienced an excellent year of wrestling. Athletes from Eleanor Graham, Rexton Elementary and Soleil levant school make up the Kent Wrestling club. This group competed at the St Stephen, Bathurst, PEI Open, and the Moncton Open with teams from Quebec, NB, NS, and PEI, winning several team championships and individual titles along the way.
Summer soccer registrations will take place next Monday, May 6th and on Wednesday, May 8th from 6:00pm - 7:30pm both evenings. Registrations will be held at Ecole Soliel Levant, Richibucto and Ecole Maree Montante in St. Louis. Registration forms will be available at the main offic.e or ask your homeroom teacher if you haven't received one.
With the warm weather trying to shine through students are reminded to adhere to the school's dress code. Tops must cover from shoulder to waist (no bare midriff). Any attire that is very lowcut or exposes undergarments is unacceptable for school. Please ensure shorts and skirts are not shorter than mid thigh length. If you are unsure your outfit is school appropriate please bring a change of clothes.
Tomorrow April 4th will be Hat Day at EWG Middle School. Students wishing to wear their hat for the day can make a donation to the local Autism Support Group.
