Read the article Its a Breeze, How Air Pressure Affects You
Answer the following questions in your notebooks.
1) What is air pressure?
2) Does air take up space?
3) How is air pressure measured?
4) How much pressure does Earth's atmosphere press against each square inch of you with a force of 1 kilogram per square centimeter?
5) Define high and Low pressure.
6) As air pressure changes what causes your ears to pop?
7) As you climb higher, air temperature decreases. How much does air temperatures decrease
per 1,000 feet of elevation?
8) Do you think a decrease in temperature could be explained in terms of air pressure? How?
