On Friday, October 28th the students of EWG, dressed up and came out in support of the Friends of the Moncton Hospital. $528 was raised to assist the Friends in their campaign to raise money for much needed equipment. Thank you to the students and staff who were in attendance!

EWG Cookbook Fundraiser has started and finished. Thank you to everyone who supported our students by purchasing a book.

Last year four determined grade 8 students set out to raise money to build a well in India. Manuella Carvantes, Patrick Dennis, Trevor Simon and Sam Bernard accomplished that goal and today a well sits in the village of Rachapalli in the state of Andhra Pradesh and serves over 200 villagers clean drinking water with a plaque dedicated to the EWG Middle School.

The students and staff recently took part in raising money for the Terry Fox Foundation. A total of $1342 was raised by 45 students. Top fundraiser was Sabreight Fletcher followed by Morgan Leblanc. Madame Joanne Robichaud's class won a nutrition break which includes muffins, juice and fruit for having the most participation in her class. Other prizes were randomly drawn and all the students who stayed for Friday activity period walked in support of a great cause.

On Wednesday, September 21st starting at 6:00pm the staff of Eleanor W. Graham wish to invite all parents and guardians to meet your child's teacher and learn more about EWG. For new parents wishing to tour the school, Cheryl Warman- Community Schools Coordinator will be there. Also, EWG is launching their Cook Book. Last year, students from grade 5-8 and our staff compiled a cookbook in support of our snack program and it is ready with 133 local recipes and at a cost of $8.

      All members of the EWG Middle School staff would like to Welcome Back our grade 6-8 students.   A special welcome is extended to our grade 6 students and any new students to our school.      On Tuesday, September 6th, we will  be welcoming only the grade 6 students .  This day has been set aside for the transition to the Middle School.  Lunch will be provided to all grade 6 students on Tuesday. Grade 7 and 8 students will not be starting on this day.

Students of EWG recently held a Battle of the Classes in support of Juvenile Diabetes. In total $317 was raised. Pictured are Mr. Danny Scully, Principal of EWG with  grade 8 student and organizer,  Sam Bernard accepting the cheque. Sam participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Walk in Moncton on June 12th.

Madame Maillet's class battles for first place in support of Juvenile Diabetes! Congratulations to 6FIM for winning the EWG Battle of the Classes. $317 was raised in total with $100.70 coming from 6FIM. The winners received their prize on Wednesday, thank you to Mrs.Thompson for helping out. Originally we had organized the event in support of building a well in India, however the students surpassed that goal a week ago and one of our event organizers asked if we could support Juvenile Diabetes. It was a close race with 6FIR coming in a close second.

The first Spring Variety show at the new Eleanor W. Graham Middle School was a success! The students put together a fantastic evening of entertainment along with some jokes, drumming and cupcakes! Mrs. Morrow would like to thank the students for all their hard work and to Terry Emery for helping with sound and set up. A big thanks to Mr. Theriault as well for his help.  The students would like to thank Mrs. Morrow for helping them showcase their talent. Many parents and family members were in attendance and a good time was had by all! See photo gallery for more pics!

It is with great pleasure and pride that we publicly announce this year's recipient of the School District 16 Turn-a-round Awards for EWG Middle School, Travis Donaher. Travis was chosen as this year's winner due to his overall changes. Travis and his guests attended the awards ceremony held at the Rodd in Miramichi. He received a trophy and track suit as part of his award.  Travis has overcome some obstacles that in the past made it very difficult to make school a priority but with much perservance he has risen to the top and everyone at EWG Middle School is very proud of his achievements.
