Dear Parents and Students,
I hope everyone is well and ready to try some math at home. The circumstances are not ideal, but I know you will all make the best of the situation. What you do will not be graded for report card purposes. You are learning because you want to and you know it is important for your future success. That being said, there is no pressure from your school or your teacher (me, Mr. Fletcher) to complete all of the assigned work. You will try to do the work assigned because it's important to you!
To begin this week, I will assign review quizzes on thatquiz.org. Students can access these through my TEACHER PAGE as they did when at school. The program will give feedback on answers instantly. Don't worry if you get some wrong, you can see the mistakes and learn from them. A summary is given at the end of the quiz and I recommend reviewing these when the quiz is completed.
If you don't have a computer to use, but you do have a phone or iPad or tablet, the program will work on those as well. On a phone, at least my phone, the phone needs to be rotated to start quiz and you can rotate back to see whether the answer was correct or incorrect.
I will put up a new quiz each day this week that you can try, don't worry about finishing them but I do encourage you to do so. The quizzes will be review from concepts we have done in class previously. I will begin with new content in the coming weeks. I will also post some general websites on the Mathematics tab (at the top of the webpage) that you can access more challenging activities.
Please reach out via email if you have any problems(math or other) or you just want to say hi. My e-mail is shaun.fletcher@nbed.nb.ca.
You can also leave me a phone message at 523-7972. Remember to leave your name and your number and I will call you back.
Miss you all and look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Mr. Shaun Fletcher
