Grade 8

I have created a few more quizzes on thatquiz for you to try.  I'm planning to begin with finding Total Surface Area of rectangular prisms and triangular prisms later on this week.  You should be comfortable with finding area of rectangles and triangles before starting Total surface area.

Example:

To find the area of a rectangle use the formula:

A = L X W    (Area of Rectangle equals length muliplied by the width)

A = 3 mX 5m

A= 15 cm2  ( notice the units are squared)

For the area of a triangle use the formula:

A = bXh /2  ( Area of triangle equals the base X height divided by 2)

The base and height are always perpendicular( meet at right angles) to each other.
